I think I'm just being stupid, but I don't know how to start after starting the fire

Unless you are among those unlucky ones to experience the glitch, you should be able to click on the overworld text. Also make sure you didn't zoom in too much :)

Jumps don't register sometimes, sometimes on the first boss I try jumping on it but I get hurt, and overall the game is just mediocre
